Travel the world of wine, one glass at a time.

Featured Wines of the Month

Each month we highlight a new wine region of the world and curate four white and four red wines that best represent the region.  These wines are featured in our Wine Station dispensers for tastings and are available for purchase by the bottle.

Order Your Anniversary Case

Each year we capture our year of wine "travels" in a special mystery case.  One bottle is selected from each of the regions we have featured, from December 2023 through November 2024. Regional information, tasting and pairing notes, and a logo corkscrew are included.

Cases will be ready for pickup beginning Dec 17th.

December 2024 - Spain

Spain boasts the highest amount of vineyard acreage in the world, although the yields are relatively low in comparison, given their limited water use and wide spacing of the vines. The wines seem to fall in between old world and new world styles—both bold fruit and dusty/earthiness and minerality. Varietals such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Monastrell (Mourvedre) originated in Spain.

Spain’s aging classifications can help you find the wine you like; aging imparts more barrel-influenced flavors and richness. For instance -red wine, Joven: little to no time in oak; Crianza: 24 month aging, 6 in barrel; Reserva: 36 month aging, 12 months in barrel; Gran Reserva: 60 months aging, at least 18 months in barrel.

This month's wine tasting will be held on December 18th from 6:30-7:30 pm.  Tickets on our events page.

Whites

Bodega Vina Nora Albarino, 2022 Galicia

It is a bright, straw-yellow colour wine with green shades. It has a high aromatic intensity, where the great complexity of aromas and sensations stand out. Fruity, with notes of pear and white flowers, such as honeysuckle. The varietal aromas of the Albariño variety and the mineral character of the soil are emphasized in this wine. On the palate, it is a well-structured, full-bodied and elegant wine. (WE 90)

Bodegas Luzon Blanco, 2023 Murcia

Blend: 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Macabeo. in color with a brilliant reflection and greenish hints. Green apple aromas blend with citric and tropical notes. On the palate, it is unctuous with a balanced acidity and apersistent finish.

Bodegas Castillo de Eneriz Rose , 2021 Navarra

Rose of Garnacha. Pale pink with hints of peach. Fresh, delicate, elegant, balanced with a fresh nose of blood orange. A subtle explosion of fresh red fruit and citrus note character that shows the terroir of the vineyard site.

Bodegas Naia, Rueda, 2022

This is a textbook example f a Rueda Verdejo with inviting aromas of tart green apples, bosc pears, marcona almonds, and oyster shells evolving from the glass. The palate is lively, with a sharp acidity that is immediately tamed by a fleshy mineral-rich juicy profile. The finish is crisp, fruity and slightly floral. Fantastic on its own but would pair perfectly with shrimp and lobster tail.

Reds

Bodegas Luzon Verde Jumilla Monastrell, 2022

From Jumilla, a wine region that is known for its outstanding Monastrell wines. This 100% certified organic red over-delivers in a big way. Black pepper, ripe plums and smoke aromas round out this wine's full-bodied blackberry and herb flavors. Pair with roasted or grilled mushrooms, meats and sausage, braised short ribs and rich pastas.

Bodegas Filon, Old Vine Garnacha Almansa, 2022

This old vine Garnacha comes from high altitude, low yielding vineyards in Calatayud. This region in north-central Spain is home to some of the oldest Garnacha vines in the world, and the resulting wines are dense, concentrated, and packed with flavor. Full-bodied, juicy, and supple, this one offers up notes of ripe berries, clove, white pepper, and toasty oak.

Siglo Rioja Tempranillo

100% Tempranillo from 35 year-old vines. Estate-grown and bottled. Aged for 8 months in French and American oak. Fresh, round, elegant with ripe tannins and a long finish. Earthy plum and berry aromas, while this feels creamy and slightly raisiny. Oaky chocolate notes blend with herbal red plum and berry. Signature handcrafted burlap bag (“saco”) dating back to the 1800s is still used today to keep the wine safe from heat, light and breakage.

Dominio de Atauta, Ribera Del Duero La Celestina Crianza, 2017

This wine has full-on aromas of blackberry, plum, black cherry and cassis, with a whiff of eucalyptus. It has flavors of ripe black and red fruits and a touch of black-olive paste and saddle leather. The tannins are bold but silky and the finish is persistent. (WE 94)
