We're back to featuring some great reserve reds that are perfect with your favorite fall foods. Featured in our Wine Station, ready for tasting.
The wines of Château Fontanès should always be in one's lineup of go-to wines for folks looking for full, flavorful reds. Maybe it’s the biodynamic farming, but these wines always seem to have an extra gear when it comes to aromatics and sheer deliciousness. Raw terroir and spicy garrigue abound in this wine, with rich, juicy fruit and silky tannins.
Blueberry, baked cherries explode out of the glass and are complemented subtle aromas of chocolate, mint, fennel and cardamom. Full bodied, this well balanced Opolo Paso Robles Petite Sirah hits the palate with flavors of jammy red currant, mulberry, and spice surrounded by velvety rich tannins that lead into a robust finish with good grip.
Alta Vista’s 516 acres of estate vineyards are situated in the best terroirs of Mendoza, at a minimum of 3,200 feet above sea level. Half the wine is aged for 12 months in 100% French oak barrels, followed by an additional 4 months aging in bottle prior to release from the winery. Intense red with purple hues. Fresh berries and cherry aromas with delicate notes of wood well integrated. In mouth, chewy, crisp, full-bodied and clean finish. Can be cellared up to 7 years. 92 Points JS, 89 points WS
This is just a spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley! This medium bodied wine is both lithe and expressive, with embracing tannins wrapping gently around a focused core of dried herb-accented black cherry and licorice flavors, dancing with finesse on the finish.
