Alta Vista’s 516 acres of estate vineyards are situated in the best terroirs of Mendoza, at a minimum of 3,200 feet above sea level. Half the wine is aged for 12 months in 100% French oak barrels, followed by an additional 4 months aging in bottle prior to release from the winery. Intense red with purple hues. Fresh berries and cherry aromas with delicate notes of wood well integrated. In mouth, chewy, crisp, full-bodied and clean finish. Can be cellared up to 7 years. 92 Points JS, 89 points WS
Fragrance of ripe dark berries, pomegranate molasses and warm cranberry sauce with shades of vanilla and hickory. A multi-dimensional mouthfeel sporting red berry bramble and licorice on the entrance, picking up along the way. loads of dark cacao and spiced almonds on the mid-palate. The lush and lengthy finish perfectly matches the aromas of the earlier nose, with waves of violet and fresh tobacco leaf. 12 months of aging in Oak barrels (30% new oak. 50% French & 50% American)
Frankovka and Alibernet grapes were destemmed, crushed and spontaneously co-fermented in open-top vats. The free run juice goes into old barrels where it finishes fermentation and ages for nearly 2 years. In autumn 2022, we blended it with a bit of 2020 Blaufrankisch for juiciness and drive, and a dash of 2021 Devín (a white grape) for aromatics. Dark fruit, dainty cherry, touch of Devín's rose aromas. The taste is lighter than its intense colour would suggest, mingling dark chocolate pralines
