Tuesday's Flight - July 21st

Abbazia di Novacella Kerner, 2025 Alt Adige, Italy

Kerner is this neat little varietal that’s actually a hybrid of Riesling and Schiava and nobody grows it better than Abbazia di Novacella. Novacella is a tiny little property in the Isarco valley that’s a farm; a boarding school, a monestary; a museum, and even a perfectly preserved example of medieval architecture. They are the oldest continuously operating winery in the world.  An aromatic white wine that boasts notes of red apple and peach on the nose with a succulent juicyness.

Helenental Kellerei Zweigelt Rosé (#ROLTAT) 2025 Austria

00% Zweigelt  from  Niederösterreich (Lower Austria)

Tasting Notes: Pale pink, light-bodied, with a crisp finish and prominent wild strawberry, cranberry, and dark cherry notes.

Pairings: Excellent alongside fresh seafood, Asian-inspired dishes, salads, and charcuterie.

Colosi Nero D'Avola 2024 Sicily, Italy

A rich, full-bodied Sicilian red with deep ruby color, intense aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, black olive, and a hint of ink/leather, leading to a dry, fruity palate with ripe fruit, spice, and a long finish, often showing some vanilla/bourbon notes from its special finishing in used whiskey casks, making it great with meats, pasta, and aged cheeses.

Requiem Cabernet Sauvignon, 2023 Columbia Valley Washington

Sourced from a quartet of top-tier, biodynamically farmed vineyards - Champoux, Wallula, SeVein and Loess. The structure and complexity of this Cabernet is striking - and the fruit is absolutely explosive! Look for flavors of black cherry, blackberry, cassis and black plum fruits followed by classic tobacco leaf, cedar, graphite, chocolate and baking spice notes. This bright, full and authentic Cabernet starts out really great but then, as it breathes, just gets better and better!
