Summer officially begins on June 20th, but it seems the unofficial start is right after Memorial Day weekend. Longer days, warmer weather, outdoor activities, picnics, and lighter fare are a great match for refreshing rosés!
This month we’re showcasing four rosés, each from different grape varietals and different regions. The four featured reds “match” each of the rosés - from the same grape and region.
Rosés should always be fruity, fresh, and medium to high acidity. Pink wines are not all sweet—the amount of residual sugar in a rosé depends on when the fermentation is stopped (the winemaker’s decision). Rosés that are slightly sweet are generally called blush.
Don't worry - we are featuring four reds as well so that you're able to compare the rosés to the red wines made from the same grapes: Gamay, Pinot Noir, Malbec, and Tempranillo!
All of our featured wines are dry, but if you would like to taste a sweeter style rosé/blush, ask for our semi-sweet daily special—available all month!
