Portugal is a treasure trove of unique grape varietals that are not well known outside of the country. The country’s climate varies greatly across its regions, allowing it to produce a wide variety of wine styles.
The Vinho Verde region in the Northwest is cool, ideal for fresh white wines. Further inland you’ll find full-bodied reds and Port, made with the Touriga Nacional grape common in the Douro Valley.
Central and Southern parts of Portugal have a diverse range of varietals including age-worthy and aromatic whites, and elegant and bold reds.
Produced in Arruda dos Vinhos, a Lisbon sub-region. Arinto, Loureiro and Trajadura grapes. Wine with a light yellow color, expressive mineral and fruity nose. Soft and fresh aftertaste. A percentage of each sale goes to support organizations such as The League for the Protection of Nature to prevent the extinction of species crucial to the environment from tigers to seahorses.
Varietals: Syrah, Touriga Nacional. Pale pink in color with a fresh floral aroma, this Rosé is soft and refreshing in the mouth. it is best paired with fine sushi and grilled fish.
Varietals: Viosinho, Gouveio and Rabigato. Unfiltered. Aged “sur lies fines” in steel vats for 4 months. This vibrant and fresh wine, with a very long finish, reflects an explosion of different aromas from meadow flowers, green apples and peach, balanced by the intense flavour of white pulp fruits and lime
30% Encruzado, 40% Bical and 30% Cerceal-Branco. The exuberance and transparency of the Encruzado grape variety, combined with the delicate floral aromas of Bical and the austerity of Cerceal-Branco, has allowed us to “design” a white wine with a unique profile. With restrained and vibrant acidity, a linear structure of intense gravity and a long and full finish.
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Tinto Cão . This wine is special not only due to its unique palate, but also because of its ruby color and its youthful aroma, lush and mineral, demonstrating a magnificent balance between the fruit, and the dense structure proves that Douro can fit into a bottle of wine, with an exceptional wealth and volume.
Syrah, Castelao, Touriga Nacional. Garnet color. The aroma has notes of ripe fruit and a spicy touch. In the mouth it is fresh, elegant and with soft tannins. Best paired with red meats and cheese.
A blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz. This is a charming wine, in which the Douro is perceived in its fullness: red fruits that are combined with the toasted and sweet aromas of French oak barrels, a beautiful sensation of fruit in the flavour, which mixes in the succulent structure with round tannins and a fluid body. A long, tense and persistent finish.
